PACKAGING DESIGN
Concept: In light of America’s most recent presidential election and the overturn of Roe v. Wade, the future of reproductive healthcare is uncertain. Emergency contraceptives are not easy to come by never mind the fact that they are anything but discreet. Serpence is a futuristic product for a dystopian world where women must be sleek and discreet in accessing emergency contraceptives. Transforming the packaging of current contraceptives on the market such as Plan B to something less pharmaceudical and more cosmetic.
RECORD ALBUM DESIGN: MODERN OPERA
Concept:
Combine old design elements of opera vinyl records with modern designs. The composer’s name is a combination of two female opera composers (Francesca Caccini and Isabella Leonarda). Leonarda was the first woman to write sonatas for the violin, often melodic and expressive. Caccini’s music has a stronger and more dominant baseline compared to the works of Leonarda. Ex. Gothic opera house architectural elements combined with softer/minimal forms, elegant font with modern sans serif font, dark regal colors with soft or neon hues, etc.
MIXOLOGY HISTORY BRAND DESIGN
This project digs into the roles of six prominent females in the history of cocktails, paired with a side of biomorphic illustrations. It highlights the intricate processes and elements of the natural world that are often overlooked, such as hops’ role in beer and the freshness found in modern cocktail menus thanks to botanicals and plants. Just as nature is silently interwoven into the cocktails mixed up at happy hours across New York, female influences are interwoven throughout all aspects of the industry.
